Are you excited about embarking on international travels aimed at solving technical challenges? Are you self-starting and self-directing? Do you speak English proficiently and perhaps also German? Who knows, we might soon be colleagues, and you could join the JD team!

What does the job entail?

As a Field Service Engineer (m/f), you will be part of an enthusiastic and customer-oriented Aftersales team, comprising Service, Support, and Spares. In this challenging role, you will be responsible for installing, commissioning, adjusting, maintaining, and overhauling machines, production lines, or installations.

You will be the primary point of contact on-site for our (international) customers. Traveling will be part of your routine. On-site, you will independently handle various tasks and adjustments regardless of circumstances. Attention to detail is crucial, especially during urgent assignments where flexibility and the ability to work under pressure are required.

After a period of familiarization, you will have the autonomy (within agreed-upon terms with the customer) to determine the optimal schedule. Additionally, you will define the specific approach and the safest and most efficient methods, solutions, and work procedures (within the company’s guidelines and any client-specific directives), while also suggesting alternatives. An important aspect of the role is keeping the management informed/advised about commercial opportunities and decisions.

The problems you’ll tackle independently will often be of diverse technical nature, requiring not only knowledge but also intuition, resourcefulness, and initiative based on several years of work experience.

In this role, you will maintain communication with the Service Coordinator and/or project management (progress, results, quality, commercial decisions). Additionally, you will conduct work meetings with other colleagues and departments.

Who are we looking for?

You are a true technician who enjoys problem-solving. You like to brainstorm and can find solutions (almost always). Given your regular interactions with customers, strong communication skills are essential. You should be capable of instructing others. All communication must be delivered with tact and persuasion. You understand the importance of discretion regarding customer data. Furthermore, we value a positive attitude, enthusiasm, and initiative.

What do we require from you?

We are seeking a candidate with experience in a service-oriented, technical role. Weekly travel to different continents should not deter you, as it will be a significant part of the job. You have at least an MBO level of education with a preference for demonstrable work experience or education in a technical field. Proficiency in English is a must, while Dutch and German are advantageous.
